How It Started
A Father & Son Dream
It all started with a passion for good beer. Alan Szuter, a businessman and avid home brewer, followed this passion across the country, experiencing the collaboration, community, and quality valued by the growing craft brewing industry.
“I've always had that entrepreneurial itch, and as I began to simultaneously experiment with home-brewing, I kept thinking about all those incredible brewers and business owners I met on my travels. I thought to myself, ‘Maybe I could try doing this back home in Columbus.’”
While considering what Columbus needed from a craft brewery experience, it became clear that the brewery would need a fresh, local dining concept to match. Enter Alan's son, Bob.
“When I was living in Chicago, going out to eat was something that was really special. Something you anticipated. I wanted to create that same feeling here.”



Multiple Experiences, One Roof
What We've Built
Today, Wolf's Ridge offers multiple distinct experiences: a casual Taproom featuring new ideas, limited runs, and wild experiments; an upscale Dining Room with seasonally-driven menus; the Hickory Room private event space; a production facility on Hague Avenue; and the upcoming Understory experience.
We're also expanding to the historic Worthington Inn — bringing our commitment to high-quality food, genuine hospitality, and a comfortable atmosphere to one of Worthington's most time-honored buildings.

Alan Szuter
Owner & Co-Founder
A businessman and avid home brewer who followed his passion for craft beer across the country, experiencing the collaboration, community, and quality valued by the growing craft brewing industry before founding Wolf's Ridge Brewing in Columbus.
Bob Szuter
Owner & Co-Founder
Alan's son who cultivated an enthusiasm for creating outstanding guest experiences and dreamt of opening a fine dining establishment. His vision for the dining experience was inspired by the restaurant culture he experienced living in Chicago.
Kris Ludwig
Executive Chef
Leads the culinary program at Wolf's Ridge Brewing, curating chef pairings for special beer dinners and overseeing the seasonally-driven menus across the Dining Room and event spaces.
Harry Pendergrast
Head Brewer
Heads the brewing operations at Wolf's Ridge Brewing, leading the creation of their award-winning craft beers and special collaboration brews.
